On Sunday, March 1, using a Phoenix tourist map as my guide, I walked the perimeter of the labeled map and documented my journey—mostly looking at the "no-man's land" of the tourist map's area's exterior domain. The process of the piece is documented here. During the week following the walk, I continued to add images, video, information and drawings on each day. I also updated information daily on a Facebook event page. Click on different areas of the sketch below for more information and images. Here's the map I brought on my walk. Several of the tourist maps were re-inserted into the public with the tourist destinations removed. |
